One of the biggest attractions of Majorca is its coastline, not only for its beautiful fine, sandy beaches or its secluded bays with turquoise waters, but also for the excellent and varied range of nautical facilities on offer. To immerse yourself in the authentic Mediterranean lifestyle, taking a tour round some of the most charming ports in Majorca is an essential activity for both residents and visitors alike. Here we present you some of the most outstanding ports in Majorca.
Perfectly integrated into the beautiful maritime resort of Cala Ratjada, this is the main coastal port in the municipality of Capdepera. With boats of a maximum of 15 metres and shallow draft, it is full of small boats such as the llaüt, the traditional vessel of the Balearic Islands. Although it has plenty of restaurants to suit all tastes, the yacht club has its own cafeteria that offers a broad range of dishes from the sea, and a Sailing School for publics of all ages.

The special characteristics of this sailing club make it one of the most unique in Majorca. Following the course of the Llebrona Torrent, the pontoons roll out up to the mouth of the torrent in a zigzag that protects the boats on days of stormy weather. Porto Cristo Sailing Club, refurbished in 2008, has 222 berths on its floating pontoons and jetty. And it just oozes history. Various archaeological finds reveal that its existence dates back to Roman times. Only a few kilometres inland from the torrent, a Roman wall was found, as was a boat laden with amphorae near the beach. After walking round its pontoons you can enjoy a delicious meal in one of the many restaurant that surround the port.

Situated to the east of the Bay of Alcúdia, the Club Náutico de la Colònia de Sant Pere has a port area with 308 berths, a boatyard, a fuel station and selective waste recycling points. Only a few kilometres away, in the Levante Nature Park, there is the remote church, the Ermita de Betlem, that can be accessed via a short walk from the sailing club.

Although it is not a port or marina, on the Canyamel road that links Cap Vermell Beach Hotel with the Artà Caves there is a small jetty that is ideal for anyone wanting to pull up with a small boat or canoe. The crystalline waters and the rocky coastline make this spot a paradise for fans of snorkelling and diving.
