Majorca is an authentic paradise throughout the whole year, but it becomes an even more unforgettable experience during the mild months of spring and autumn. The climate and the extensive cultural calendar at the end of the summer make September in Majorca the best time to explore the island and enjoy everything it has to offer. But... why is September the best month to visit Majorca?
The intense heat of the summer eases off until reaching average temperatures of 24 degrees with, on average, only five days of rain during the entire month. Heavenly beaches such as Cala Agulla and Cala Torta can be enjoyed without the risk of getting sunburnt, you can do sport at any time of day and also still enjoy the best gastronomy on the island’s many terraces.
One of the most iconic nights in Majorca is the Nit de l’Art (Night of Art), the Majorcan version of the traditional Nuit Blanche that takes place in various cities around the world. Palma’s art galleries and museums transform the entire historic centre of the city into an itinerary for art lovers to enjoy. It has taken place for over twenty years now and during this magical night visitors can delight in not only the art that takes over the streets, but also the tempting variety of wines and cocktails that the art galleries offer.
Each year, Cap Vermell Group closes the summer season with an epic party. This year ‘Epic 4Ever. A club music anthology’ took place, a revisit to the best disco, funk and house at the hands of Kiko Navarro, one of Majorca’s most international DJs. Meanwhile, Alcúdia has played host for eighteen years now to the traditional Alcúdiajazz Festival, whose repertoire includes pieces of classical and modern jazz with the participation of local and international bands.
Over recent years, Majorca has become a landmark for lovers of wine, with production being exported across the world. During the last weekend in September, Binissalem celebrates its Festa del Vermar (Grape Harvest Festival), that brings together hundreds of people to enjoy a meal that is typical of the Majorcan grape harvest: fideus de vermar (grape harvest noodles). A unique experience.
