Five Mallorcan Llevant municipalities create a 196 kilometre hiking route through the best destination Cap Vermell landscapes

The long trail designed for sustainable tourism is suitable for both cyclists as well as hiking enthusiasts

The municipalities of Capdepera, Artà, Manacor, Sant Llorenç and Son Servera have joined efforts to develop a project aimed at a type of sustainable and healthy tourism meant to avoid sun and beach seasonality.

It involves preparing and marking a long route totalling 193.78 km to be done on foot or on bike through a very large portion of the Mallorcan Llevant area and enjoy the region's best landscapes.

The itinerary will be circular and will be divided into 4 different phases, three turnoffs and three diversions.

Likewise, it is designed to be able to create shorter itineraries with a map of very diverse options to reach all types of users.

The project is currently divided into four phases:

- Artà- Ermita de Betlem- Alqueria Vella - Cala Mesquida - Cala Rajada - Son Moll

- Son Moll - Font de Sa Cala - Provençals - Canyamel - Costa de los Pinos - Son Servera

- Son Servera - Son Carrió - Sant Llorenç - Manacor

- Manacor - Artà

Each of them will feature turnoffs and diversions for a more complete route which is suitable to each user's physical capabilities, available time and desired kilometres. All the municipalities actively participating in this initiative including Capdepera, which covers all of destination Cap Vermell, are rich in history, gastronomy, traditions and culture and have spectacular sea and mountain landscapes.

Thus, it's a very valid and attractive option for any visitor interested in seeing other areas besides just Majorca's beaches and sun.
